A Manatee County woman is bringing more than two decades of body-based practice into the digital world with WholeBing, a somatic self-discovery app designed to help people reconnect with themselves through short, guided practices.
Created by Anastasia Ray, WholeBing takes a different approach from many traditional wellness apps. Rather than focusing primarily on meditation, affirmations, journaling or coaching, the platform is built around somatic practices that encourage users to pay attention to sensations, emotions and responses within the body.
WholeBing is not intended to replace therapy, meditation or professional coaching. Instead, it serves as a body-based practice space where users can spend a few minutes at a time developing greater awareness of what they are feeling and experiencing physically and emotionally.
The concept grew from Ray’s more than 20 years of work in somatic practice. A neurosomatic engineer and master teacher of the Ladanie method with a background in homeopathy, Ray developed WholeBing as a way to make the body-based practices she has spent decades developing more accessible for everyday use.
The app is geared toward adults who may have tried meditation, therapy or other personal-development approaches but still feel disconnected from their bodies. It is also designed with busy lifestyles in mind, including professionals, caregivers and entrepreneurs who may be looking for a grounding practice that can fit into a demanding day.
WholeBing includes more than 370 guided somatic practices divided among five areas: I Feel, I Hear, I Embrace, I Release and I Belong. Each sector provides users with different ways of exploring their internal experiences through body-centered exercises.
The platform also includes a feature called Soul Map, which visually tracks a user’s journey through the practices. Soul Whispers provides short body-focused reflections intended to encourage awareness and connection rather than relying on traditional motivational affirmations.
At the center of the platform is the idea that personal growth does not have to begin with analyzing or talking through every experience. WholeBing instead encourages users to begin with what is happening in the body and use that awareness as another avenue for understanding emotions, stress and personal patterns.
For Ray, turning decades of hands-on somatic work into an app also creates an opportunity to reach people beyond an individual class, session or workshop. Practices that once required direct instruction can now be accessed from a phone, computer or other device and incorporated into a person’s daily routine.
WholeBing is available in English and Russian and can be accessed through iOS, Android and the web.
The Manatee County-created platform joins a rapidly expanding digital wellness field, but its body-first approach gives WholeBing a distinct focus: helping users spend less time trying to think their way toward change and more time learning to recognize what their own bodies may be telling them.
