Manatee Hope is inviting families and community members to lace up their shoes for a morning of fun while helping local children receive occupational, physical and speech therapy.
The nonprofit will host the Manatee Hope 1-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, Sept. 19, at G.T. Bray Park, 5502 33rd Ave. Drive W. in Bradenton. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the one-mile run and walk starting at 9 a.m.
Manatee Hope works to bridge the financial gap for families whose children need therapy services but may be underinsured or unable to afford the full cost of care. The organization assists with occupational, physical and speech therapy with the goal of ensuring financial hardship does not prevent children from receiving services that can help them develop, communicate and become more independent.
The family-friendly event is open to runners and walkers and will also feature games, music, food and activities for families.
Funds raised through registrations and donations will support Manatee Hope’s efforts to provide local children with access to needed therapy services.
Organizers hope the event will bring the community together around a simple message: every step can help a child move closer to reaching his or her full potential.
