The month begins with a high-energy tribute to rock legend Tom Petty on April 4, as Totally Tom Petty Las Vegas takes the stage. The show recreates the sound and spirit of Petty’s iconic catalog, bringing fan-favorite hits to life through a dynamic live performance led by Phil Dunget.
On April 7, audiences can experience the legacy of Elvis Presley with The Elvis Presley Experience, featuring two performances that highlight the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s evolution from the early rockabilly years to his Las Vegas-era showmanship.
Theatergoers looking for suspense can attend And Then There Were None, running April 9 through April 26. Based on the classic mystery by Agatha Christie, the production follows ten strangers stranded on an isolated island as they are confronted with a series of mysterious deaths. The gripping whodunit is brought to life by a cast of local volunteer performers, highlighting the center’s strong commitment to community-driven theater.
Closing out the month, the musical Big Fish will take the stage from April 23 through May 10. Families and young audiences will also have the opportunity to enjoy Alice in Wonderland Jr. on April 25. Presented by students in the center’s Youth Education Program, the performance showcases emerging talent and offers a whimsical journey through the beloved story filled with music, imagination, and creativity.
In addition to its performances, the Manatee Performing Arts Center continues to emphasize community engagement through initiatives such as Action Through Acting, a program designed to use live theater as a platform to inspire dialogue, awareness, and positive change within the community.
