Manatee Students Recognized as “Drop Savers” Poster Contest Winners on Earth Day
Local students are being celebrated for their creativity and commitment to water conservation as Manatee County marks Earth Day alongside Water Wednesday.
The 2026 Florida Section of the American Water Works Association “Drop Savers” Poster Contest highlighted young artists who used their talents to promote the importance of protecting water resources. This year’s Division 3 winners, all fourth-grade students, were recognized for their impactful designs and environmental awareness.
Emiliana Bonilla of Rowlett Elementary earned first place, followed by Jayceona Williams of Johnson K-8 in second place, and Tylei Griggs, also of Johnson K-8, in third place.
The annual contest encourages students to think critically about water conservation and how everyday actions can help preserve this essential resource. Their artwork serves as a reminder that environmental stewardship begins at a young age and that small efforts can lead to meaningful change.
Officials noted that students across the School District of Manatee County continue to demonstrate a strong understanding of sustainability and the importance of protecting natural resources year-round.
