Marauders Held to Three Hits in Walk-Off Loss to Tortugas

Pimentel socks seventh homer, Sterling earns four strikeouts

The Bradenton Marauders (13-20, 44-54) were held to three hits in a 2-1 walk-off loss to the Daytona Tortugas (20-12, 41-57) on Friday from Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Antonio Pimentel socked his seventh homer of the season, while Levi Sterling fanned four over 5.0 frames.

After Daytona put up a run in the bottom of the fourth, Bradenton bounced back in the top of the fifth. Pimentel laced a solo shot over the right field wall to tie the game 1-1.

In the bottom of the 10th, Rafhlmil Torres scored the winning run off Marauders reliever Roilan Portuondo on an RBI single.

Abraham Gaitan (4-1) notched the win, letting up a hit with a walk and three strikeouts over 3.0 scoreless innings. Portuondo (3-2) took the loss, allowing a run (zero unearned) on two hits, two walks, and three strikeouts over 1.0 frame.

Bradenton and Daytona play the penultimate of a six-game series on Saturday with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m.
