The Bradenton Marauders (20-32, 51-66) could not hang on to a late lead during a 7-5 loss to the Jupiter Hammerheads (23-29, 60-58) on Saturday from LECOM Park. Brent Iredale homered for a second straight night, while Chris Rembert extended his hitting streak to six games with an RBI single.
In the bottom of the fourth, Iredale smashed a solo homer off Jupiter starter Dameivi Tineo to put Bradenton up 1-0.
After the Hammerheads scratched across three runs in the top of the fifth, the Marauders answered back with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Iredale walked, Bralyn Brazoban doubled, and Kendrick Herrera walked to load the bases. Raymond Mola doubled, clearing the bases to make it 4-3. Rembert singled to right, plating Mola to make it a 5-3 ballgame.
Jupiter put together a run in the eight and three in the ninth while shutting out Bradenton the rest of the way to finalize a 7-5 win for the Hammerheads.
The Marauders and Hammerheads play the finale of a six-game series on Sunday with first pitch set for 12:00 p.m.
