Meals On Wheels Plus Of Manatee Announces ‘Stuff The Bus’ Event
October 6 to benefit the food bank of Manatee, a plus program of Meals On Wheels Plus Of Manatee
Bradenton, FL –September 18, 2024 A joint community effort will be underway on Sunday, October 6th with United Way Suncoast, Publix, The School District of Manatee County, The Bishop Parker Foundation, The Herald Tribune, and Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee to ‘Stuff the Bus’, a community event to benefit The Food Bank of Manatee. The Stuff the Bus event is presented by Mosaic and will be held at all Manatee County Publix stores on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Customers will have the opportunity to donate non-perishable food and/or monetary donations to help “Stuff the Bus” parked at each of the 19 Manatee County Publix locations. All donations collected benefit The Food Bank of Manatee, a PLUS program of Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee and the largest hunger-relief organization based in Manatee County.
“We are seeing as much as a 40% increase from our food pantries and partners right now and the need for food is great,” said Maribeth Phillips, President & CEO of Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee. “Every donation we receive during this community-wide event is important and every can and item donated will help change a life. As the only food bank based in Manatee County and the largest hunger relief organization in our community, we need food donations,” added Phillips. All donations made to The Food Bank of Manatee stay here in Manatee County.
The 2024 Stuff the Bus supporters include: Presenting Sponsor Mosaic, with additional support from Publix, United Way Suncoast, the School District of Manatee County, Herald Tribune, and Bishop Parker Foundation.

SHOP: Sunday, October 6th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at any Manatee County Publix store location; Look for the School District of Manatee School Bus in the parking lot and "Stuff the Bus” with your non-perishable food item donations.

Photo Opportunity: All buses will leave Manatee County Publix locations at approximately 3pm on Sunday, October 6th and will return to The Food Bank of Manatee located at 811 23rd Ave. East to be unloaded by community volunteers.
