Meet the Candidates Over Ice Cream at Greenbrook Community Event June 25
Voters from all political parties, as well as those with no party affiliation, are invited to meet local candidates during the Ice Cream with the Candidates community event on Wednesday, June 25.
The event will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Adventure Park in Greenbrook. Free ice cream from Myrtle’s Sweet Treats will be available while supplies last, and families are encouraged to enjoy the park while learning more about the candidates seeking public office.
Residents will have an opportunity to meet candidates running for several key races, including Manatee County School Board District 5, Manatee County Commission District 6, Florida Congressional District 16, Florida House District 72 and Florida Senate District 22.
The event is open to all registered voters regardless of political affiliation and is designed to give the community a chance to speak directly with those seeking office ahead of the upcoming election.
Election officials are also encouraging residents to verify their voter registration before the election. Additional election deadlines include Aug. 6 as the deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot, early voting from Aug. 8 through Aug. 16, and Election Day on Aug. 18.
