Megan Khang Surges with Career-Low 62 at Founders Cup in Bradenton
Megan Khang delivered a masterclass in precision and momentum at the Founders Cup presented by U.S. Virgin Islands, posting a career-low 9-under 62 at Bradenton Country Club on Moving Day. The impressive round vaulted her from T18 to T3, putting her in contention with 18 holes remaining.
Starting at 4-under for the tournament, Khang wasted no time asserting herself, opening with birdies on her first two holes and adding another on the fourth. She then went on a remarkable run, carding four consecutive birdies on holes six through nine to turn in a sizzling 29 on the front nine. Continuing her charge, Khang tacked on another birdie at the par-3 11th hole, reaching 12-under total.
A lone misstep came on the par-3 15th when she failed to get up and down after missing the green, leading to her only bogey of the day. However, she rebounded quickly, finishing with back-to-back birdies on the par-5 17th and par-4 18th, securing a round of 62—her lowest ever on the LPGA Tour.
The performance was a stunning display of ball striking and putting, as Khang capitalized on scoring opportunities throughout the round. Her familiarity with Bradenton Country Club, where she finished solo third in last year’s LPGA Drive On Championship, appeared to work in her favor once again.
At 13-under overall, Khang now sits five shots behind leader Yealimi Noh, who holds the 54-hole lead at 18-under. Entering the final round within striking distance for the first time since the 2024 Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, Khang has her sights set on a second career LPGA Tour victory. A win would mark her first since the 2023 CPKC Women’s Open and solidify her status as a rising force on tour.
With confidence soaring and momentum firmly on her side, Khang will aim to replicate her Saturday brilliance in pursuit of the Founders Cup title. As the final round looms, the leaderboard remains within reach, setting the stage for an exciting finish at Bradenton Country Club.
