Metropolitan Planning Organization Seeks Public Input for Future Transportation Plans
The Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is inviting residents to help shape the future of transportation in Sarasota and Manatee counties by participating in the Phase 2 Survey for its 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP).
The LRTP, titled "Invest Today, Transform Tomorrow," serves as a strategic framework for transportation investments and development over the next 25 years. Phase 2 of the plan focuses on gathering community feedback to determine the types of projects and investments that align with regional needs and priorities.
The survey, available in both English and Spanish, builds on insights gathered during Phase 1, which saw nearly 700 participants contribute their thoughts. This phase further develops the LRTP's vision, "Creating a Balanced Future,"which emphasizes environmental preservation, vibrant communities, and economic diversity.
Residents are encouraged to share their input by visiting surveymonkey.com/r/TransformTomorrowSurvey2. Community feedback will play a pivotal role in refining strategies to achieve the plan’s goals.
The MPO aims to create a transportation system that supports sustainable growth while addressing the region's evolving needs. Community engagement is central to ensuring the LRTP reflects shared priorities and aspirations for the Sarasota-Manatee area.
