Mini-Roundabout Construction Set to Begin at Caruso Road and 63rd Street East
Construction of a new mini-roundabout at the intersection of Caruso Road and 63rd Street East is scheduled to begin within the next few weeks, aiming to improve traffic flow and safety in the growing East Manatee area.
Initial work will include survey operations and the saw-cutting of the center island where the traffic circle will be installed. Crews will also begin sidewalk and curb improvements as part of the early construction phase.
Throughout the project, bidirectional traffic will remain open to drivers with the help of on-site flagmen directing vehicles. County officials urge motorists to use caution and follow posted signs and flagger instructions while passing through the construction zone.
The roundabout is designed to enhance traffic efficiency and reduce collision points at the busy intersection. Once completed, it is expected to offer smoother, safer navigation for both local and through traffic.
