Missing Bradenton Man Found Seriously Injured After Being Struck on I-75 Exit Ramp
A 37-year-old Bradenton man who had been reported missing earlier in the week was hospitalized with serious injuries Wednesday evening after being hit by a vehicle on an Interstate 75 exit ramp in Hillsborough County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. on the southbound ramp from I-75 to State Road 674 in Ruskin. Authorities say a 70-year-old Michigan man driving an SUV struck the pedestrian, later identified as Nathaniel Modglin of Bradenton, after he entered the roadway.
Modglin had been reported missing from Manatee County and was last seen Sunday night in Ruskin. Family members and law enforcement had been searching for him earlier this week. After the collision, emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including why Modglin was on the interstate exit ramp at the time of the incident
