Motorcycle Passenger Killed in Crash at 59th St W and 42nd Ave
A late-night collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck at the intersection of 59th Street West and 42nd Avenue has claimed one life and left another individual critically injured.
The crash occurred around 10:37 p.m. on Monday in the 4200 block of 59th Street West. Bradenton Police confirmed that a passenger on the motorcycle died at the scene, while the motorcycle’s driver was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the pickup truck did not report serious injuries.
Traffic Homicide Investigation (THI) and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) teams responded to the scene to document evidence and determine the cause of the crash. The investigation led to the closure of 59th Street West between Cortez Road and 40th Avenue West for several hours overnight.
By 2:20 a.m., police reopened the roadway, but the investigation remains ongoing as of Tuesday morning. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved. Additional updates are expected as more information becomes available.
