Off-Duty Corrections Deputy Arrested on DUI Charge After Parrish Crash
An off-duty Manatee County corrections deputy was arrested late Sunday night after a single-vehicle crash in Parrish, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the crash on Fort Hamer Road at approximately 11:07 p.m. after Emergency Medical Services requested law enforcement assistance due to concerns the driver may have been impaired. Upon arrival, deputies identified the driver as Luciano Centofanti, 30, who had been employed as a corrections deputy with the sheriff’s office since January 2019.
Authorities reported that no one was injured in the crash. Following their investigation at the scene, deputies arrested Centofanti on a charge of driving under the influence.
The sheriff’s office confirmed that the arrest occurred at the time deputies responded to the crash late Sunday night. As of the time of this report, Centofanti has resigned from his position with the agency.
