Ossio Establishes New U.S. Headquarters in Palmetto, Bringing Manufacturing and Jobs to Region
Medical technology company Ossio has officially opened its U.S. headquarters in Palmetto, marking a significant expansion of its operations with a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and surgeon training center. The 30,000-square-foot site, located in the Florida International Tradeport industrial park, is expected to create about 100 jobs over the next five years.
Ossio, an Israel-based orthopedics company, specializes in developing and manufacturing bio-integrative, metal-free fixation implants designed to support natural bone healing. Demand for the company’s proprietary OSSIOfiber® implants has grown substantially in the United States, prompting the decision to move key manufacturing and training operations closer to its primary market.
The Palmetto facility will house advanced production operations and serve as a training center for surgeons as Ossio transitions U.S. implant manufacturing from its previous location in Massachusetts. The company plans to begin hiring manufacturing technicians, clinical trainers, and support staff ahead of starting production in spring 2026.
Industry and state officials have highlighted the development as a boost to the region’s life sciences sector. Florida has positioned itself as a growing hub for health care technology and medical manufacturing, with public-private efforts to attract innovative companies like Ossio.
Ossio’s technology uses a proprietary polymeric mineral fiber matrix that integrates into bone and is positioned as a credible alternative to traditional metal implants. This innovation has seen increasing adoption among orthopedic surgeons in the U.S., with tens of thousands of OSSIOfiber implants already in use.
The company maintains research and development activities in Caesarea, Israel, and will continue to operate a smaller commercial presence in Boston, even as the new Florida headquarters assumes a broader manufacturing and training role.

As soon as I read they are moving from Massachusetts I understood. High taxes, very high cost of living, and all of the other trappings of a very liberal state.
