Overnight Repairs Underway on Anna Maria Island Bridge This Week
The Florida Department of Transportation has scheduled overnight repairs to the drawbridge deck of the Anna Maria Island Bridge on State Road 64 (Manatee Avenue) from Monday, October 13, through Thursday, October 16.
Crews will conduct work between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., using a flagging operation to direct traffic across the bridge. The bridge will remain open during the repairs, but brief delays are expected while flaggers manage alternating lane closures.
The nighttime schedule is designed to minimize disruptions during daytime travel hours. All lanes are expected to reopen each morning before the rush hour commute. Motorists who wish to avoid potential slowdowns may use the Cortez Bridge (State Road 684) as an alternate route.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time when traveling through the area and to visit FL511.com for real-time traffic updates. FDOT emphasized that the overnight work is intended to reduce daytime impacts while maintaining safety as the agency’s top priority.
