Oysters Rock Hospitality is marking November with a series of dining experiences, charitable initiatives and live entertainment at Anna Maria Oyster Bar locations and Café on St. Armands. The schedule includes a Veterans Day discount, a fundraiser benefiting Tidewell Hospice, an open jazz jam series and a Thanksgiving celebration featuring traditional favorites and Mediterranean-inspired dishes.
The events offer residents and visitors opportunities to enjoy local dining while supporting veterans, charitable organizations and the area’s music community.
Anna Maria Oyster Bar Offers Veterans Day Dining Discount
On Wednesday, November 11, Anna Maria Oyster Bar will recognize veterans and active-duty military personnel with a 50% discount on their meals at all six restaurant locations.
The offer is available throughout the day for dine-in customers who are veterans or currently serving in the military. The initiative is part of the restaurant group’s ongoing commitment to recognizing military service and supporting those who have served.
Participating locations include Landside at 6906 14th Street West in Bradenton, Cortez at 6696 Cortez Road West in Bradenton, Ellenton at 1525 51st Avenue East, Bridge Street Pier at 200 Bridge Street in Bradenton Beach, UTC at 5405 University Parkway, Unit 110, and North Port at 14132 Tamiami Trail.
Tidewell Hospice Fundraiser Honors Restaurant Family Members
Anna Maria Oyster Bar will continue its annual Tidewell Day: Ribs for Jerry, Ann, and Lynn fundraiser on Friday, November 13, at all six locations.
Throughout the day, $10 from every Danish Baby Back Ribs order will be donated to Tidewell Hospice, supporting hospice care services for patients and families.
The fundraiser honors three individuals with close ties to the restaurant’s history. Tidewell Hospice provided care for Jerry Yettaw, the original Anna Maria Oyster Bar chef, as well as Ann and Lynn Horne Sr., the parents of restaurant founders John and Amanda Horne.
An additional fundraising initiative, Oyster Angel Wings, will run November 10 through November 16. For a $5 donation, guests can write the name of a loved one on a commemorative wing that will be displayed inside the restaurant. Proceeds will also benefit Tidewell Hospice.
The annual event is part of Oysters Rock Hospitality’s charitable efforts, which include supporting organizations that provide essential services throughout the community.
Sunday Jazz Jam Invites Local Musicians to Participate
Anna Maria Oyster Bar Landside will host a three-week Sunday Open Jazz Jam beginning November 15 and continuing November 22 and 29.
The sessions will take place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at 6906 14th Street West in Bradenton.
Hosted by Shari Morningstar, the series invites local musicians to bring their instruments and participate in live performances alongside experienced jazz musicians.
The featured ensemble, Noteworthy, includes Keith Carman on keyboard, Joe Bruno on bass and Jim Richards on drums. Bruno is a two-time Emmy Award-winning music composer who served 24 years with the U.S. Navy Band in Washington, D.C.
Unlike a traditional concert, the open jam format encourages collaboration and improvisation, allowing participating musicians to contribute to each performance.
Guests who prefer to listen are also welcome to attend and enjoy the restaurant’s Happy Hour menu during the afternoon sessions.
Café on St. Armands Plans Thanksgiving Celebration
Café on St. Armands will offer a Thanksgiving dining experience on Thursday, November 26, combining traditional holiday dishes with Mediterranean-inspired selections.
Located at 431 St. Armands Circle in Sarasota, the restaurant will begin the holiday with brunch offerings before transitioning to afternoon and evening dining.
The Thanksgiving menu will include a traditional turkey plate with seasonal sides, along with prime rib, pistachio-crusted lamb, Moroccan crispy duck, feta-crusted grouper and Youvetsi, a Greek-inspired pasta dish.
Brunch selections will include Benedicts and Country Fried Prime Rib, while seasonal appetizers, side dishes and desserts will complement the holiday menu.
The restaurant aims to accommodate guests seeking a traditional Thanksgiving dinner as well as those interested in alternatives to the usual holiday meal.
Reservations are strongly recommended, and the final seating is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Reservations can be made through OpenTable or the restaurant’s website at CafeOnStArmands.com.
Restaurant Group Continues Community-Focused Initiatives
Oysters Rock Hospitality, led by John Horne, Amanda Horne and Eleni Sokos, operates six Anna Maria Oyster Bar locations and Café on St. Armands.
The restaurant group also supports community initiatives through its philanthropic program, Shuckin’ Good Cause. Its charitable efforts include Dive Into Reading, the Employee Relief Fund and programs focused on education, military and first responders, community affiliations and quality of life.
The November schedule reflects the company’s combination of hospitality, entertainment and community involvement, offering several ways for residents to participate in local events and charitable activities throughout the month.
