Palma Sola Botanical Park Seeks High School Volunteers for Bright Futures Hours

Palma Sola Botanical Park is inviting Manatee County high school students to earn Florida Bright Futures community service hours while helping maintain and improve the nonprofit botanical park.

Volunteer opportunities are available every Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. and will continue through May 26, 2027. The program began Aug. 12 and is open to high school students.

Students can participate in a variety of activities throughout the park, including planting, propagating plants, mulching, hanging holiday lights, assisting with office work and helping with the park’s iNaturalist activities.

No previous gardening or volunteer experience is required. Adult mentors will supervise participating students, and Palma Sola Botanical Park will provide and complete the paperwork needed to document eligible Bright Futures community service hours.

Snacks and drinks will also be provided to volunteers.

The weekly volunteer program is held at Palma Sola Botanical Park, 9800 17th Ave. NW in Bradenton. Students do not need to RSVP and may arrive at the park on Wednesdays during the scheduled volunteer hours.
