Palmetto Go-Kart Facility Expands Under New Ownership

T4 Kartplex in Palmetto is entering a new era of growth, adding a children’s track, tripling its fleet of rental karts, and hosting competitive races under new ownership.

The 18-acre complex, located off U.S. 41, offers recreational karting, a racing academy, private events, and dealership operations. A 10-minute rental session costs $30, with karts reaching up to 45 mph.

Owner Jake Mottaz, who purchased the facility in 2024, has grown the business to 30 employees and more than $3 million in annual revenue. The fleet expanded from 12 to 36 karts in recent months, and race weekends can attract up to 1,500 spectators.

Despite the expansion, challenges remain, including Florida weather and high insurance costs. Looking ahead, the facility plans to add more activities in its Kids Village and eventually purchase the property to allow further expansion.
