Palmetto Man Arrested in St. Petersburg for Stalking and Voyeurism Involving Multiple Women
A 49-year-old man from Palmetto was arrested on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, by St. Petersburg Police Detectives on multiple charges related to stalking and voyeurism.
William Michael Copher faces four counts of stalking and four counts of voyeurism connected to incidents involving five different women. According to investigators, Copher traveled from his residence in Palmetto to neighborhoods in St. Petersburg, where he reportedly stood outside the victims’ bedroom windows and observed them without their knowledge. In at least two of the reported cases, the suspect was seen masturbating.
Police say one victim received a package of sex toys delivered by Copher, along with handwritten notes. The first complaint was filed on June 30, launching an investigation that expanded over the following weeks. Detectives worked to connect the incidents and followed up on new tips, which eventually led to the arrest.
Authorities believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing.
