Palmetto’s Heritage Festival Brings History to Life!
Palmetto, FL – Step back in time and experience the rich history of Palmetto at the annual Palmetto Heritage Festival on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM at Palmetto Historical Park and the Manatee County Agricultural Museum. This free, family-friendly event offers engaging activities, historical demonstrations, and educational fun for all ages.
Visitors can explore seven historical buildings, including an authentic 1880 Post Office, where guests can send mail with a unique one-day-only cancellation stamp. Kids and adults alike can test their pioneer skills by churning butter and tackling laundry the old-fashioned way. Creativity will be on display in the one-room schoolhouse, where participants can craft their own bookmarks.
Beyond the historical attractions, local organizations such as Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County, De Soto National Memorial, and Palmetto Downtown Main Street, Inc. will be present to share community resources and activities.
For those interested in a deeper dive into Palmetto’s past, free guided tours of the historical buildings will be available at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 12:30 PM. Mr. C’s Word of Mouth BBQ Food Truck will be on-site, serving up delicious food for purchase.
