Parrish Civic Association to Host February Meeting Focused on Fire Protection and Community Safety
The Parrish Civic Association will hold its February monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 10, featuring a presentation from Parrish Fire Department leadership on fire protection standards, safety frameworks, and the department’s long-term planning.
Guest speaker Tim Gajan of the Parrish Fire Department will address how national organizations and standards influence local fire services and community outcomes. The presentation will cover the impact of ISO ratings on insurance costs, along with the roles of NIOSH, NFPA, and NIST in shaping firefighter safety, emergency response practices, and operational standards.
In addition to outlining how these organizations affect fire protection services, the presentation will include an overview of the Parrish Fire Department’s future direction and strategic plans, offering residents insight into preparedness, growth, and ongoing investments in public safety.
The meeting will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Media Room at Parrish Community High School, located at 7505 Fort Hamer Road. The Parrish Civic Association board meeting will follow from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
