Parrish Civic Association to Host Community Meeting Featuring Emergency Preparedness and Local Initiative Updates
The Parrish Civic Association and Parrish Area Business Alliance will host a community meeting on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Parrish Community High School’s Media Center, located at 7505 Fort Hamer Road in Parrish.
The public forum and guest speaker session is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by the association’s board meeting from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Organizers are encouraging all community members to attend.
The meeting will feature presentations focused on emergency preparedness and local community initiatives.
Elizabeth Raucci, CERT Co-Lead for Del Webb Bayview, will discuss the role and organization of Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) and their importance in immediate emergency response situations. Topics will include the responsibilities of CERT volunteers, how CERT fits into community preparedness efforts, and identifying potential hazards that could impact neighborhoods.
Amber Lamerson, Director of Community Impact for the Bishop Parker Foundation, will provide updates on local initiatives and opportunities for community involvement. Her presentation will include information on the North River Manatee County Public Capital Report, details about the upcoming North River Manatee County Keynote and Dinner scheduled for May 17, and opportunities to participate in post-report roundtable discussions on May 18 and 19.
The meeting is open to the public and will include community updates and information on local engagement opportunities.
