Parrish Civic Association to Host April 14 Meeting with District 1 Candidate and Community Forum
The Parrish Civic Association, in partnership with the Parrish Area Business Alliance, will host a community meeting on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, inviting residents to engage in local issues and hear from a candidate seeking public office.
The meeting will take place in the Media Center at Parrish Community High School, located at 7505 Fort Hamer Road in Parrish. The evening will begin with a guest speaker presentation and public forum from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by the association’s board meeting from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This month’s featured guest speaker is John Dunn, a lifelong Manatee County resident and candidate for the District 1 Commission seat. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the special election process in Florida and hear about Dunn’s platform and priorities.
Topics expected to be discussed include pursuing a Manatee County charter, strengthening accountability and transparency in local government, ensuring district-level input in decision-making, supporting public health and safety initiatives, and protecting the Future Area Development boundary.
Organizers encourage all residents to attend and participate in the public forum, which provides a space for community members to stay informed, ask questions, and engage in meaningful dialogue about issues impacting Parrish and the surrounding areas.
The meeting is open to the public and aims to keep residents connected with local leadership and ongoing developments within Manatee County.
