The Parrish Community High School swim team is starting the season with record participation and an early school record.
The Bulls have 12 boys on this year’s roster, the largest boys swim team in school history, along with seven girls. The swimmers begin their weekday practices at 5 a.m. under Head Coach Courtney Lancaster.
Parrish Community opened competition Aug. 26 against Lakewood Ranch High School and Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy. Junior Ryan Davis delivered a standout performance, breaking the school record in the boys 100-yard butterfly and taking first place in the event.
The larger roster is giving Parrish Community more options for relay teams and creating additional competition during practices, particularly among the boys.
Lancaster is focusing on individual improvement and team development as the Bulls look to build on their strong start throughout the season.
