Parrish park is in the works
Manatee County is moving forward with plans to develop a new park in Parrish, with county officials approving a $4 million budget allocation this week for the project. Hidden Harbor Park will be located just north of the Manatee River, east of Fort Hamer Road.
The park, as outlined in Manatee County Government's Capital Improvement Plan, will include an observation pier, boardwalk, nature trail, and kayak launch. Additional features being considered are a skate park, volleyball courts, and a playground. The decision to build the park is driven by the rapid growth in the eastern and northern areas of the county. While an official opening date has not been set, construction is slated to begin by the end of this year.
