Paul Hoback Jr. Named Incoming CEO of Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport
The Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority has selected Paul Hoback Jr. as the next president and CEO of Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ), following a unanimous board vote on June 24. He will officially assume the role on October 19, 2025, as current CEO Rick Piccolo prepares for retirement.
Hoback currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer for the Allegheny County Airport Authority, where he oversees operations at Pittsburgh International Airport. He brings over 25 years of experience in airport leadership, including strategic planning, infrastructure development, and sustainability initiatives.
Piccolo, who has led SRQ since 1995, is widely credited with modernizing the airport, reducing debt, increasing airline partnerships, and overseeing major terminal improvements. He will officially retire on November 30, 2025, and will remain in an advisory capacity until June 30, 2026, to assist with the leadership transition.
Under Piccolo’s leadership, SRQ experienced record-breaking passenger numbers, rapid carrier growth, and national recognition for operational excellence. The airport continues to expand its infrastructure to accommodate rising demand, including the addition of new gates and enhanced passenger services.
The board expressed strong support for Hoback’s appointment, noting his experience in large-scale airport development and commitment to innovation. His leadership is expected to build on SRQ’s growth momentum and position the airport for long-term success in the region.
