Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Multiple Vehicles on SR-70 in Manatee County
A pedestrian was killed Sunday evening in a tragic collision on State Road 70 in South Bradenton, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident, which occurred at approximately 6:54 p.m., involved three vehicles and claimed the life of a 49-year-old Bradenton man.
The pedestrian reportedly entered the westbound lanes of SR-70, crossing from the north shoulder of the road. As he attempted to make his way across the lanes, he was struck by a 25-year-old woman driving an SUV westbound. The force of the impact threw the man across the lanes, where he was then struck again by two other westbound vehicles: a Sedan driven by a 43-year-old man and another SUV driven by a 28-year-old man.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
