Pedestrian Killed After Stepping Onto US-41 in Bradenton, Troopers Say
A 35-year-old man died Monday night after stepping into traffic on US-41 South in Bradenton and being struck by a passing van, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
State troopers reported that the crash occurred just after 9 p.m. near 28th Avenue West. Investigators say the pedestrian had been on the sidewalk before walking onto the roadway, where he collided with a van traveling in the right southbound lane.
The van was driven by a 41-year-old Bradenton man, who remained at the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
