Pedestrian Killed in Late-Night Crash on U.S. 41 in Manatee County

A late-night crash in Manatee County claimed the life of a pedestrian and remains under investigation, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers reported that a 24-year-old woman driving a sedan was traveling south on U.S. 41 toward 51st Avenue Drive when a 74-year-old man attempted to cross the travel lanes. Investigators said the pedestrian stepped into the path of the vehicle and was struck.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No additional injuries were reported.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
