Pirate-Themed Summer Learning Program Sets Sail at Local Libraries on May 31
Libraries across the area are preparing to launch a swashbuckling Summer Learning Program on May 31, inviting young readers to embark on a pirate-themed adventure filled with books, prizes, and exciting events.
Designed for ages 0–17, the program encourages children and teens to log their reading hours through the Beanstack app to earn digital badges and raffle entries toward a Grand Prize. The more participants read, the more treasure they uncover—figuratively and literally.
Special bonus rewards await those who meet reading milestones. After logging 10 hours, readers will earn a free round of mini golf at Smugglers Cove by purchasing one admission. Hitting the 20-hour mark unlocks a free ticket voucher to the Bradenton Marauders home game on August 2.
From themed programs to prize incentives, the Summer Learning Program aims to keep kids engaged and motivated while school is out. Registration is open now, and families can sign up online to track progress when the program officially starts at the end of May.
With reading as the map and imagination as the compass, local youth are invited to read, explore, and uncover their own treasure troves of knowledge and fun this summer.
