Plane Crashes at Bald Eagle Airfield in Myakka City, Sparks Brush Fire
MYAKKA CITY, FL — A single-engine aircraft crashed Wednesday morning at Bald Eagle Airfield in Myakka City, prompting an emergency response after the wreck sparked a brush fire.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, three people—Christopher Mischo, 35, Timothy Vasiloff, 35, and Alyssa Vasiloff, 34—were on board the Grumman Tiger AA5 when it went down during takeoff. Despite the dramatic scene, all three escaped the plane without injuries.
