The meeting will be held in person on April 29 from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM at The South Manatee Branch Library, 6081 26th Street West, Bradenton, FL, 34207, located near the project corridor. The El Conquistador Parkway Corridor Study was conducted to evaluate existing conditions and assess future transportation needs as traffic volumes continue to increase. While the study identified several significant capital improvements, funding is not currently available to advance those major projects.
In the interim, Manatee County’s Traffic Engineering Division has identified a series of cost-effective safety improvements that could be implemented in the near term. These proposed measures include buffered bicycle lanes, enhanced signage, modifications to neighborhood access points, and additional treatments intended to improve safety and better accommodate multiple modes of transportation.
Speeding has been identified as a key concern along the corridor, affecting overall roadway safety and access for adjacent neighborhoods, including nearby residential communities. The proposed improvements are intended to address these concerns and enhance conditions for all users.
The purpose of this meeting is to:
· Present the results of the corridor study
· Share details of the proposed safety improvements
· Provide an opportunity for public review and comment
Manatee County values public participation and seeks to ensure that community feedback is incorporated into the decision-making process. Input received will help guide the next steps for potential construction and implementation.
