The Manatee County Canvassing Board has ordered a recount in the Copperstone Community Development District (CDD) Seat 1 election after both candidates received exactly the same number of votes in the November 3, 2026, general election.
According to election results released by the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections Office, Adam Bailey and Kyle Baber each received 240 votes, representing 50% of the 480 votes cast in the contest.
The Canvassing Board has ordered a machine recount, followed by a manual recount if necessary, to determine the outcome of the tied race.
The recount is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 9 a.m. at the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections Office, located at 600 301 Blvd. W. in Bradenton.
The recount will be open to the public, allowing residents and interested parties to observe the process.
Community Development Districts are special-purpose local government entities responsible for managing and financing certain infrastructure and community services within their boundaries. CDD supervisors serve on governing boards that oversee district operations, budgets, assessments, and maintenance responsibilities.
The recount is being conducted under Florida election law, which establishes procedures for reviewing close election results.
Anyone requiring disability accommodations to attend the recount may contact the Supervisor of Elections Office at 941-741-3823.
The official recount notice was issued November 6 by Manatee County Supervisor of Elections Scott Farrington.
The outcome of the Copperstone CDD Seat 1 election remains unresolved pending the recount.
