Remembering Our Fallen Exhibit to Visit Bradenton Riverwalk Memorial Day Weekend
Manatee County will host the traveling Remembering Our Fallen exhibit during Memorial Day weekend, bringing a tribute to military service members who lost their lives in the line of duty since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
The exhibit will be displayed at Donald L. Courtney Monument Park along the Bradenton Riverwalk from Friday, May 22 at noon through Monday, May 25 at 6 p.m. A Memorial Day ceremony is scheduled for Monday, May 25 at 9 a.m.
Presented through a partnership with the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and Valor Commons, the memorial features photographs and stories honoring fallen service members from across the nation, including approximately 300 Floridians.
Organizers say the exhibit is designed to provide the community with an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by military personnel and recognize the families they left behind. The outdoor display will be open to the public at no cost throughout the weekend.
The exhibit has traveled to communities across the country as part of an effort to preserve the memories of those who died while serving in the U.S. military during the Global War on Terrorism era.
Community members are encouraged to visit the memorial during the holiday weekend and help spread awareness about the exhibit throughout Manatee County.
