What: Rhinestone Cowboys & National Heroes – The Pops Orchestra is proud to begin its 50th season with Nashville country singer Ralph Curtis bringing to the stage the golden age of country music and a patriotic salute to our veterans. Enjoy the music of Grand Ole Opry stars such as George Jones, Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, George Strait, and Charley Pride, then let The Pops Orchestra take you on a musical journey through all eight military conflicts in which our treasured veterans have served, celebrating each veteran in the audience and each branch of the military.

This heartfelt, high-energy season opener will celebrate both America’s veterans and its country music legends. Enjoy Nashville country singer Ralph Curtis and the rich, full sound of The Pops Orchestra for a concert that promises to be an inspiring, toe-tapping experience for all ages.
“First, we will honor the epic history of country music, one of America’s gifts to the world, then play a series of selections that trace our history through conflict, including the soundtrack from the movie The Patriot, the theme song from Ken Burns documentary The Civil War, the famous 1812 Overture, selections from both World War I and World War II, a salute to the Korean War, a composition about the Vietnam War Memorial called Reflections from the Wall, and a wonderful march written for the Gulf War called Valor of the Multi National Corp-Iraq. It will be a wonderful start to the November 11 Veterans Day celebrations in our community.”
