Rynders Homers Back-to-Back Nights, Marauders Fall 6-4 to Threshers
King Jr. clobbers ninth home run, Anker shows strong outing from the bullpen
Eddie Rynders homered for a second night in a row, but the Bradenton Marauders (0-1, 31-35) fell 6-4 to the Clearwater Threshers (1-0, 41-26) on Friday from LECOM Park. Eddie King Jr. clobbered his ninth homer, while Jack Anker allowed just one run over 4.0 innings from the bullpen.
The Threshers put up two runs in the top of the first, but the Marauders responded in the bottom half of the inning. King Jr. walked and Ramirez singled to put runners on second and first. A Base hit by Bralyn Brazoban plated King Jr. and made it a 2-1 ballgame.
After Clearwater scored two more runs in the top of the second, Bradenton answered back in the bottom half of the inning. Rynders lifted a solo homer to left, cutting the deficit, 4-2.
Down 5-2 in the bottom of the third, King Jr. smashed a solo blast to right, moving the score 5-3.
In the bottom of the eighth, Ramirez singled, Brazoban walked, and Luke Scherrer reached on a fielder’s choice to load the bases. A wild pitch allowed Ramirez to score and make it 5-4.
The Threshers plated a run in the top of the ninth, and the Marauders went scoreless in the bottom half of the inning to finalize a 6-4 for Clearwater. Brad Pacheco (3-3) let up three runs on four hits, a walk, and seven strikeouts over 5.0 innings. Dominic Perachi (0-1) allowed five runs on five hits and a walk over 2.2 frames.
