Safe Sitter Summer Camp Builds Confidence and Caregiving Skills for Kids This Summer
Families in Manatee County have an opportunity to help their children gain valuable life skills this summer through the Safe Sitter Summer Camp, a program designed to prepare young participants to become responsible and confident caregivers.
The camp focuses on teaching children how to safely care for younger siblings and neighborhood kids while developing independence and real-world readiness. Participants will learn essential safety practices along with practical caregiving techniques that can be used both at home and in babysitting settings.
Scheduled sessions will take place June 8 through June 11 and July 20 through July 23, with daily classes running from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The program offers a structured and engaging environment where students can build confidence while learning important skills.
Camp curriculum includes CPR training for friends and family, dog CPR, swim safety education, and creative art projects and interactive, hands-on learning experiences. The program also emphasizes confidence-building, helping children feel prepared and capable in a variety of situations.
The Safe Sitter Summer Camp is designed for children who are interested in babysitting, supporting their families at home, or simply gaining skills that promote responsibility and independence.
Additional information and registration details are available through Manatee Technical College’s continuing education program.
