The Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is inviting residents, community leaders, and stakeholders to participate in a public workshop on Thursday, November 5, 2026, to discuss the future of public transportation across Sarasota and Manatee counties.
The Community and Stakeholder Workshop will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bayfront Community Center, located at 803 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. The event is free and open to the public.
The workshop is part of the MPO’s Regional Transit Feasibility Study, an initiative examining potential improvements to public transportation and opportunities for better regional connectivity between the two counties.
Attendees will learn about the study, review community feedback collected so far, and explore potential transit scenarios. Participants will also have an opportunity to share their perspectives on transportation needs and priorities throughout the region.
For Manatee County residents, the study provides an opportunity to weigh in on transportation challenges affecting commuters, workers, students, seniors, and others who rely on public transit. Improved regional connections could help residents access employment, education, healthcare, and other essential services across county lines.
Public participation will help the MPO evaluate transportation options and identify priorities as the study progresses. The workshop is designed to gather input from residents and stakeholders before future transit recommendations are developed.
