School Board Receives $20,000 Donation for Multilingual Translation Devices
The Manatee County School Board has received a generous $20,000 donation from representatives of Edwards Jones, aimed at enhancing communication for non-English-speaking families. The funds will be used to purchase Translate Live devices, which offer real-time translation in over 120 languages.
These devices will play a crucial role in helping families during essential school activities such as student registration, parent-teacher conferences, and clinic visits. They will also assist parents in engaging with school organizations like SAC (School Advisory Councils) and PTO (Parent-Teacher Organizations), fostering greater involvement in their children’s education.
With this new technology, the district hopes to strengthen connections between schools and families from diverse linguistic backgrounds, making it easier for parents to participate in school events and activities.
