School Bus Carrying Four Students Involved in South Bradenton Crash
A Manatee County school bus carrying four students was involved in a traffic crash Tuesday morning in South Bradenton.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 31 and Orlando Avenue. The school bus was stopped facing northbound in the outside travel lane while waiting to make a right turn.
Troopers reported that a GMC van traveling northbound in the center lane approached the intersection and failed to maintain a safe distance, striking the left side of the bus.
No injuries were reported among the students, the bus driver, or the van driver.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Bus drivers think they own the roads. No less than two buses pulled in front of me today. One pulled out of a subdivision where I had to slam on the brakes. The second turn right right in front of me and again I had to slam on the brakes. That was in a two mile stretch just this afternoon. In the mornings buses pull directly in front of people as they exit the bus barn on 26th. I understand you have a schedule but other people would like to get home safe.
