School District of Manatee County Welcomes Four Visiting Teachers from Spain to Dual Language Program
The School District of Manatee County has welcomed four visiting educators from Spain who will join the district’s Dual Language Program for the upcoming school year, bringing international experience and cultural perspectives to local classrooms.
The teachers traveled more than 4,000 miles to teach in Manatee County and will serve at three elementary schools across the district. Señor Vargas and Señorita Jurado have been assigned to Daughtrey Elementary School, Señorita Martinez will teach at R. H. Prine Elementary School, and Señorita Lopez will join the staff at Palmetto Elementary School.
The new educators will work alongside the district’s existing team of dual language teachers, including visiting teachers who arrived last year. District leaders say the collaboration will help strengthen the program while providing students with authentic language instruction and meaningful cultural experiences.
The visiting teachers will help students develop bilingual skills in English and Spanish while fostering a broader understanding of cultures from around the world. Their expertise and diverse backgrounds are expected to enhance classroom learning and support the district’s commitment to preparing students for success in an increasingly global society.
School officials welcomed the educators to Manatee County and expressed appreciation for their decision to continue their teaching careers in the district, noting the positive impact they are expected to have on students and the school community.
