School District of Manatee County Announces Free Summer Meals Program for Kids and Teens
The School District of Manatee County Food and Nutrition Services Department is once again offering free summer meals for children and teens throughout June and July as part of the Summer BreakSpot program.
The program provides free breakfast and lunch meals to children and teens 18 years old and younger at multiple locations across Bradenton, Palmetto, Parrish and Myakka City. Meals will be available Monday through Friday at community centers, parks, schools, churches and apartment communities to help families access nutritious food while school is out for summer.
Several curbside pickup locations will also provide weekly breakfast and lunch meal distributions during June and July. Mills Elementary School in Palmetto and Harvey Elementary School in Parrish will offer curbside meals on Mondays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Myakka Elementary School in Myakka City and Williams Elementary School in Parrish will provide curbside meals on Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Additional meal distribution sites will operate throughout the summer at locations including Ward Temple Church, Southeast High School, Bradenton Village Apartments, Rossi Park, First Baptist Church of Ellenton, Turner Chapel, Lincoln Park, Parrish Park, Hidden Harbor Park, Everest Garden, Manatee Mobile Home Park, Pine Village Apartments, Pride Park, Washington Park and River Trace Apartments.
Meal service times vary by location. Organizers noted that locations and schedules are subject to change throughout the summer.
