School District Releases Final Rezoning Maps for 2026–2027 School Year
The School District of Manatee County has released its final proposed rezoning maps, marking a key step in planning for the continued growth across the county. The changes will adjust residential attendance zones for elementary and middle schools beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, with high school attendance zones set to shift for the 2027–2028 school year.
District officials are encouraging families and community members to review the proposed maps and share their feedback during the 30-day public input period, which precedes the School Board's vote on final approval in early December.
To help answer questions and gather community input, the district will host three public meetings:
Monday, November 17: Braden River High School, 6545 State Road 70 East, Bradenton, 6:30–8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, November 19: Lakewood Ranch High School, 5500 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, Bradenton, 6:30–8:00 p.m.
Thursday, November 20: Parrish Community High School, 7505 Fort Hamer Road, Parrish, 6:30–8:00 p.m.
Families can see how the proposed changes may affect their school assignments by visiting www.manateeschools.net/rezoningprocess. Feedback can also be submitted through the district’s “Let’s Talk” app, available at this link.
The rezoning initiative is part of the district’s broader plan to balance enrollment and ensure that new and existing schools can effectively serve Manatee County’s rapidly growing student population.
