Construction is accelerating on SeaFlower, a transformative 1,175-acre mixed-use development in West Bradenton, marking a significant milestone in the area's urban growth. The project, situated south of Cortez Road and west of 75th Street, is set to introduce 4,000 homes, 250 hotel rooms, and 350,000 square feet of office and retail space upon completion.
The initial phase encompasses 400 acres and includes over 1,000 single-family homes and 600 apartments. Builders such as Cardel Homes, David Weekley Homes, Issa Homes, M/I Homes, and Pulte Homes contribute to diverse architectural styles, including coastal, Craftsman, West Indies, and transitional farmhouse designs.
Central to the community is Lake Flores, a 19-acre lake surrounded by a park and a resident-only amenity center known as The Garden Club. This facility will feature a clubhouse, resort-style pool, fitness center, meeting hall, event lawn, pickleball courts, and a children's play area. A 2.5-mile multi-modal trail will connect residents to various amenities, including a nature preserve, dog park, and the SeaFlower Village Center.
The Village Center, anchored by a 50,000-square-foot Publix and Publix Liquors, will serve as the community's commercial hub, offering additional retail and dining options. A preview center has opened at 8114 Cortez Road West, providing prospective residents with information on home styles, amenities, and the neighborhood's vision.
With infrastructure development underway and model homes in progress, the first residents are expected to move in by late 2025, signaling the realization of SeaFlower's ambitious vision for West Bradenton.
How are Cortez rd., 53rd.ave., and Bayshore Boulevard going to handle this additional traffic?
