Search Underway for Missing 78-Year-Old Palmetto Woman with Memory Loss

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing and endangered woman from Palmetto.

Tempie Etheridge, 78, was last seen early Monday morning on October 6, 2025, walking away from her apartment in the 5000 block of Cedar Leaf Circle. Doorbell camera footage shows her leaving around 1:30 a.m.

Etheridge is described as 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing about 130 pounds. She suffers from memory loss and may be disoriented. At the time she went missing, she was wearing a powder blue nightgown and slippers.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is coordinating search efforts and asking residents in the surrounding area to check their home surveillance cameras, sheds, and yards for any signs of Etheridge.
