Severe Storms Damage Homes in Shadow Brook Mobile Home Park
Severe thunderstorms swept through Manatee County Sunday afternoon, leaving several homes in the Shadow Brook Mobile Home Park with significant damage.
Public Safety Director Jodie Fiske was first on the scene and quickly coordinated a multi-agency response. Emergency Management teams distributed more than 30 tarps to help residents protect their homes from further damage.
Public Works crews and the North River Fire District worked together to clear debris from roadways, ensuring access for emergency responders. North River also assisted in placing tarps on the two homes that suffered the most severe damage.
Southern Manatee Fire Rescue deployed drones to assess the extent of the storm’s impact from the air. At the same time, Veterans Services Deputy Director Travis Adams conducted a human needs assessment for affected homeowners. Adams will continue to follow up with families as recovery efforts progress.
The coordinated response highlighted the dedication of local agencies in supporting residents through the aftermath of the storm. Crews remain engaged in cleanup and assistance to ensure the Shadow Brook community recovers safely.
