A six-year-old boy remains in critical condition following a near-drowning Sunday night at a Bradenton home, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
Officers responded to a home in the 3500 block of 24th Avenue West at approximately 9:06 p.m. and found family members performing CPR on the child.
Emergency medical personnel continued resuscitation efforts before the boy was airlifted to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, where he remained in critical condition Monday.
Bradenton Police detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. No criminal charges have been filed.
Police are reminding families that water emergencies can happen quickly, even in familiar settings, and are urging adults to maintain constant, undivided supervision whenever children are near pools or other bodies of water.
