Soar in 4 Monthly Event Helps Families Build Early Literacy Skills
Families with young children are invited to attend the next Soar in 4 event on June 3, 2026, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature in Bradenton. The free monthly program is designed to help prepare children for success in school by providing books, educational resources and guidance for parents and caregivers.
Hosted by Soar in 4, the event offers free admission, free literacy materials and books, and opportunities for families to connect with educators who can share practical tips for encouraging reading and learning at home. Books and materials are available while supplies last.
The monthly gatherings focus on promoting early childhood literacy and kindergarten readiness, two key factors linked to long-term academic success. Research shows that children who are exposed to books and language-rich experiences before entering school often develop stronger vocabulary, communication and reading skills. Family involvement in learning activities also helps build confidence and a positive attitude toward education.
In addition to receiving free resources, families can explore The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature and participate in activities that encourage curiosity, exploration and learning through play. These experiences help young children develop critical thinking, social and problem-solving skills while creating meaningful family engagement opportunities.
The event will take place at The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature, located at 201 10th Street West in Bradenton. Organizers encourage families with preschool-aged children and those preparing to enter kindergarten to attend and take advantage of the free educational resources available through the program.
