Son killed his mother and then himself in Parrish

Tragedy struck Sunday evening in Parrish when a man fatally shot his mother before taking his own life in a murder-suicide, as revealed by deputies.

At approximately 6:15 p.m., the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire and the discovery of two deceased individuals in a driveway on 84th Street Circle East. Investigators determined that Stephen Andrew Kidd, 29, was responsible for the death of his 51-year-old mother before turning the firearm on himself.

Authorities stated that Kidd had been grappling with personal challenges for a considerable period leading up to the tragic event.
